Respiratory Therapist-Weekend Option

This RRT position will work our Weekend Option Package of Friday/Saturday/Sunday 7:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
The registered respiratory therapy technician is a graduate of an A.M.A. approved training program and credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Card. The RRT is responsible for the providing cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with specific physician’s orders, department policy and procedure to provide a level of patient care equivalent to the level of care available throughout the institution.

1. Education, Experience, and Training
a. High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) preferred.
b. Graduate of AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
c. Current state of Iowa Respiratory Therapy Licensure.
d. PALS and ACLS certification.
e. Previous experience in all aspects of Cardiopulmonary Services.
f. Knowledge of mechanical ventilators, invasive and non-invasive, performing EKG’s, Holter Monitors and overnight oximetry.
g. Prefer previous experience and/or knowledge of PFT’s.
h. Previous experience in all aspects of cardiopulmonary services.
i. Must have the ability to work with associated technologies relevant to the position.
j. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in written form, needs and solutions with all levels of the organization.
k. Ability to define problems, collects information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
l. Must possess valid Mandatory Reporter training for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse.
m. Must be able to read, speak, and write fluent English.
