For Immediate Release
Compass Memorial Healthcare Foundation accepted a check for $500 from Hills Bank and Trust to be used toward the renovation of the hospice suite at the hospital. The new space will be larger to accommodate the desired level of family comfort and involvement during a patient's final stage in life.
"A warm and comfortable hospice suite is so important for families who are sharing their last days with their loved one, "said Margaret Staman, Foundation Director. "The Foundation researched projects and decided to focus on the hospice patient's comfort as more and more families in our service area look to Compass Memorial Healthcare when saying their final goodbyes. Creating an environment that is compassionate and caring means so much to the entire family at such a stressful time."
"The design of the room has not been completed, but when an accepted layout has been finalized, it will be shared with the communities we serve so they can visualize our plan for the future of this space," said Barry Goettsch, CEO of Compass Memorial Healthcare.
Area businesses or individuals wishing to donate to the hospice suite renovation can contact Margaret Staman at 319-642-8054 for more information. Compass Memorial Healthcare is a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital located in Marengo, Iowa.
