Compass Memorial Healthcare Honored for Achievement in Patient Satisfaction

By: BRATHJEN on DECEMBER 11, 2013

Compass Memorial Healthcare has been named a 2013 Guardian of Excellence Award winner by Press Ganey Associates, Inc. The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing facilities that consistently achieved the 95th percentile of performance in patient satisfaction.

The Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award is a health care industry symbol of achievement. Fewer than 5 percent of all Press Ganey clients reach this threshold and consistently maintain it for the one year reporting period.

Press Ganey partners with more than 10,000 health care facilities, including more than half of all U.S. hospitals, to measure and improve the patient experience.

"We are proud to partner with Compass Memorial Healthcare," said Patrick T. Ryan, CEO of Press Ganey. "Achieving this level of excellence reflects the organization's commitment to delivering outstanding service and quality. Compass Memorial Healthcare's efforts benefit patients in Marengo and the surrounding communities and will lead to improved patient experiences."

This will be the first time the organization has received an award from Press Ganey. Press Ganey award winners were formally recognized during the Awards Lunch at the Press Ganey National Client Conference, which was held in November at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. Compass Memorial Healthcare sent three staff members to the conference to personally accept the award. Teresa Sauerbrei, Chief Nursing Officer; Peg Wertz, RN; and Lisa Eckholm, RN, ED manager, attended the conference.

The Compass Memorial Healthcare emergency department is close to home, has shorter wait times and is staffed with friendly and caring individuals. For more information on the hospital, emergency department or healthcare providers please visit www.MarengoHospital.org.
