Food & Nutrition Cook/Aide
This position will be full-time working 11:00 A.M. to 7:30 P.M., 72 hours per pay period. This position will also take part in a rotation of weekends and every other holiday.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
This position is responsible for the preparation, cooking and serving of nutritionally adequate meals for patients, Meals on Wheels, employees and caterings while following all state and federal guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
� Prepares meals following therapeutic spreadsheets, patient menus/ requests, and standardized recipes.
� Serves meals within the appropriate time frame.
� Complete all necessary documentation including by not limited to food temperatures, refrigerator, freezer and store room temperatures, production sheets, daily census, daily cleaning, and weekly cleaning.
� Responds positively to new ideas and approaches in a changing health care environment to ensure the hospital takes advantage of opportunities in a positive manner.
� Answers phone calls appropriately.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
a. High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) preferred.
b. Prefer 1 year previous dietary experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
c. Must have the ability to work with associated technologies relevant to the position.
d. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
e. Must possess a Certificate in Simplified Diets within 6 months of hire (CMH will provide training if needed).
f. Must possess a Certificate in Food Safety and Sanitation within 6 months of hire (CMH will provide training if needed).
g. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in written form, needs and solutions with all levels of the organization.
h. Ability to define problems, collect information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
h. Must possess valid Mandatory Reporter training for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse.
i. Must be able to read, speak, and write fluent English.
