Radiology Technologist

This is a Full-time Weekend Option position working Friday, Saturday/Sunday 6:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. The Weekend technologist receives premium pay of base plus 60%.

Primary Function 

Performs a variety of imaging procedures including X-Ray and CT on ER patients, inpatients, and outpatients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Responsible for quality patient care and safety
• Documents symptoms to aid the radiologist in obtaining a quality reading of the exam.
  Performs portable radiography in the emergency department, patient’s rooms, and surgical area
• Performs radiographic examinations on trauma patients and patients in other life-threatening circumstances
• Follows infection control policies and procedures
• Responsible for cleanliness and daily maintenance of imaging equipment
• Practices good communication skills
• Follows department and hospital policy and procedures

Education, Experience and Training

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Graduate from an AMA approved school of radiologic technology
• ARRT certificate
• Iowa Permit to Practice
• Knowledge of PACS
• Maintain 24 hours of continuing education every Two (2) years
• Must have the ability to work with a variety of computer-related equipment
• CT experience is a plus but onsite CT training with a Certified CT technologist is available Those without CT experience are encouraged to apply
